FLIX MIX: SÉRAPHINE
On Sunday afternoons this fall, the Farnsworth Art Museum, the
Strand Theatre and the Saltwater Film Society are partnering to present
an exciting and eclectic mix of art films accompanied by thoughtful
conversation. Each film will be introduced by an expert, who will then
engage participants in a brief dialogue at the film’s close. Come be a
part of this exploration of film as an artistic medium and as a vehicle
for sharing the creative process!
The true story of Séraphine Louis, a simple and profoundly devout
housekeeper who in 1905 at age 41 began painting brilliantly colorful
canvases. The Farnsworth’s Director of Education, Roger Dell will
introduce the film. $10/FAMmembers, $12/non-members, $6/Students (w/ID), children 18 and under free.


OPERA – Tuesday, Oct 20 at 1:00pm

TOSCA ENCORE

Soprano Karita Mattila stars in this story of three people – a famous
opera singer, a free-thinking painter, and a sadistic chief of police -
