According to a recent email, Slates Restaurant in Hallowell is doing a fundraiser for the No on 1 initiative. According to Slates Manager, Dotti Galley, the event was a last minute decision with the hope their event will add more money for this cause.

Sunday October 25th. – 5:00 to 7:00 P.M.
Appetizers – door prize – music – silent auction items
"suggested" donation – $15.00 – of course any amount is great !!!
Addendum: When Prop 8 took away marriage rights in California, the right wing celebrated. Now, they are at it again, trying to keep gay marriage from becoming a reality in Maine.
Right now, Maine is ready to make history and become the only state in the country to have gay marriage passed by the legislature, signed by the governor and, with your help, confirmed by the people.
