A workshop of sacred dance for youth is scheduled during the school vacation week of February 15-19, 2010 at the South Parish Church in Augusta. The joy of music, movement, and God’s love can be shown through the worship art of sacred dance. The K-12 program will be held each weekday from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. with a break for lunch and will conclude with students performing at a special church worship service Sunday, February 21 at 10 a.m. It is open to any child age six or over. No previous dance experience is required and it is suited to any child who likes to be physically active. Cost of the workshop will be $75 per child or $150 per family with scholarship help available. Instructor for the classes will be Heather Godfrey of New York City. Godfrey has been teaching liturgical dance for the past 14 years in churches and at conferences across the country.
