Mixed Media Sculpture by Niki Liyanage-Don, a Sophmore at Cony High School

The Kennebec Valley Art Association is starting off our annual series of Young at Art events at the Harlow Gallery with Higher Forms of Art, the 4th annual exhibition of artwork by area high school students. Come celebrate emerging artists at the opening reception on Friday, February 19th from 5 to 8 pm at the Harlow Gallery in downtown Hallowell. This event is free and open to the public and refreshments will be served.

Participating schools this year include Cony, Gardiner, Maranacook and Richmond High Schools. This fourth year of collaboration between area high schools and the Harlow Gallery is a community effort to unite & exhibit artists of differing ages and ability in a professional atmosphere. The students participate in planning and hanging the exhibition. A variety of media will be exhibited and the focus of the artwork will be on drawing, painting, design, sculpture and photography, showcasing the outstanding talents of emerging artists from our community. The exhibit will run through the weekend and close at 4pm on Sunday, February 21st.
