The Mystery of Irma Vep

the mystery of IrmaVep-REV2 by Charles Ludlam – Main Stage

January 26 – February 21

A hilariously exaggerated spoof of Gothic horror & Victorian melodrama in which an unsuspecting woman marries a mysterious lord, only to discover that the presence of his first wife still haunts the manor house. Complete with vengeful vampires and damsels in distress, Irma Vep is filled with witty literary allusions, subversive political jabs and one of the funniest “penny dreadful” plots ever to take the stage!

The Approximate Running Time is 2 hours including a 15 minute intermission

Master Harold … and the Boys

master herald By Athol Fugard – Main Stage

March 2 – March 21, 2010

A sometimes comic, frequently searing, and ultimately hopeful coming of age story set during a rain-soaked afternoon in South Africa. Fugard’s masterpiece is a powerful examination of the impact of apartheid on the close friendship between young Hally, a teenager from a fractured family trying to find his place, and two black servants.

The Real McGonagall

the real mcgonagall by Willy Holtzman – Studio Stage

February 18 – March 7, 2010

On the eve of his return voyage to Scotland, Sir William Topaz McGonagall recites his outrageously bad poetry at a saloon in New York. Is he a fool? A joke? Or is the joke on any of us who has ever secretly yearned for artistic self-expression but not dared go public? A hilarious account of the true life-story of the world’s worst poet and his dubious (but lovable) place in history.
