Dear Friends & patrons,
Below is some information about the Bangor Savings Bank Communities Matter More grant program. Hubbard Free Library would like to urge each of you to go to the indicated web site (http://www.bangor.com/youmattermore/voting.aspx) and vote for Hubbard Free Library as a write-in choice (under Other), for the Central region.
As some of you may know but many of you may not, the library badly needs the 130-year-old slate on the roof replaced and repairs made to the roof (we have trouble with leaks and water damage). The heating system also needs to be replaced, and as those of you who have been in the library at the height of summer can attest, installation of air-conditioning is badly needed. A grant such as this would be a help in working toward these goals. And all you have to do to help is take a couple of minutes and vote! The deadline for voting is midnight, Tuesday, March 2nd, so please vote now, while you’re sitting at your computer. Thanks so much! Melody
MORE:
In early March, Bangor Savings Bank Foundation will give a total of $100,000 to 68 local non-profit organizations. We’re looking to you, our community, to assist us by deciding how to best distribute these funds.
We want to hear from as many Maine residents as possible. Please invite your friends, colleagues and neighbors to participate as well. Together you know what your communities need. Together you can help us matter more.
The organization in each region that earns the most votes, listed or write-in, will be awarded a $5,000 grant. The remaining listed organizations are guaranteed a grant of $1,000 each. The top twenty write-in winners will each be awarded a $1,000 grant (at least two in each region)Melody Norman-Camp, Director
