marijuana medical

Sorry about the Short Notice!

Sen. Joseph Brannigan has introduced LD 1811 “An Act to Amend the Maine Medical Marijuana Act” — a bill which finally sets the stage for the establishment of medical marijuana dispensaries in Maine!

The legislature’s Health and Human Services Committee will hold a public hearing on the bill on Thursday, March 11 at 1:00 PM in room 209 in the Cross Building.  Any Maine resident may testify.

The bill is great as it is — it will be even better if it can be amended to allow caregivers to give or sell any excess marijuana to dispensaries.  As the bill is written, caregivers would have to turn any excess marijuana over to law enforcement to be destroyed, wasting good medicine.
What can you do?

  • Come to Augusta on March 11 at 1:00 PM in room 209 and testify in support of the bill and our proposed amendment.  ANY MAINE RESIDENT MAY TESTIFY.
  • Call the members of the Health and Human Services Committee and urge them to amend the bill to allow caregivers to give or sell any excess marijuana to dispensaries and then vote “ought to pass.”
