Elizabeth Scott O’Haverty
Artists Statement:
My large theme concentrates on capturing the dynamics of “the arrested domestic moment,” snapshots of every day life taken by that most amazing camera of all time, the human eye. The setting for much of my work is Europe, where that moment is still likely to hold charm and strength. And because of its rich visual possibilities, the table is a favorite subject of mine. I happen to believe that the table has contributed as much to civilization as has the wheel. In Europe the table is still an honored focal point of life, gathered around to celebrate the arts of eating well and conversing well, to sharedomestic chores and family amusements. What I find particularly delightful is the probability that a typical ‘arrested domestic moment’ there, (as opposed to here) won’t include a television set.
O’Haverty works with oil, acrylic, inks and pastel, and many paintings include collage.

Triple “R” Candles – Maggi Tracy
Triple ‘R’ came to be about 3 years ago. I was introduced to the cleaner, greener way to burn candles. The 3 R’s represent:
Reduce our dependency on oil. Paraffin candles are made from the sludge of oil. These emit the same toxins as your cars exhaust, hence the black soot that accumulates. Soy beans are a sustainable source of oil.
Reuse the containers that I make my candles in. Bring them back to me to refill for the cost of wax, fragrance and color.
Recycle your favorite containers into custom made candles. And since most of my candle are made in vessels that have a double life, such as mugs, jewelry containers or anything ceramic or glass knick knack you get double the use of your purchase.
Currently I have my candles at the Camden Merchants Co-op along with attending many Fall/Winter Craft fairs. I am beginning to attract returning customers and plan the opening of a Crafters Venue at my barn in Hope which will stock the soy candles along with hand made goods of area crafters.
Amanda Selfridge Shortall
I’ve been painting on glass since 1995, making fun, beautiful, and completely washable glassware. I handpaint every piece freehand in my studio and all designs are my orginals. People love my handpainted “dish soap” bottle, which alternatively could be used for olive oil or salad dressing. I also do a number of serveware, stemware and tabletop pieces to dress up any kitchen or table for spring.
About the artist:
For several years I owned and operated a studio and retail storefront in Portland’s Old Port where I designed and sold my glass, along with the work of other local artisans. I am now I teacher, but I still enjoy glass painting. My husband’s hometown is Thomaston, where we now reside with our young son.

American Dream Country Crafts
American Dream Country Crafts was revived and renamed after many years on the shelf. The owners, Deb & Jim Walker & Claudia & Ron Wiggin have joined together in this venture to recycle as much as they can and to give people handcrafted items to use for decorating their home or for gifts.
Claudia and Deb used to run this business as home parties and couldn’t keep up with the customer’s orders.
All the items we sell are handmade by us. We take old quilts that have lived past their years and turn them into beautiful keepsakes. Our bears and angels are made from antique quilts and chenielle spreads. We pour the garden stones out of concrete and have beautiful inlaid stained glass designs in them. Some of our other things are more to the primitive tastes.
Each season we add more new items to fit everyone’s tastes.
We really appreciate the opportunity to show our items are your event.
Melissa Welch, Windsor
I’ve been making baskets since 1998 when my mom and I took a class through adult education. I enjoyed it so much that I’ve sold them in local craft shows throughout the years since and given many away as gifts.
Making beaded jewelry was inspired by all the sea glass I’ve collected since I was child, all of it from beaches in Maine. I work various designs using natural gemstones, sea glass, pearls and mixed metals. I strive to use naturally colored stones and avoid resin and dyed materials except for pearls because there is such endless variety of natural colors to chose from. Having a creative outlet is important especially one that uses my hands and involves color variation.

I create many styles of art. Abstract, calligraphy, photography and mixed media collage art with these elements combined. Most designs are greeting cards, but some are available as 11 x 14 matted works and 5 x 7

Nathan grew up just outside of Woodstock, Vermont hiking the mountains and working on his grandparent’s farm. His favorite time of year has always been autumn, when he could hike among the fall foliage. Arranging fallen leaves into intricate patterns on the ground became one of his favorite pastimes as a child, and continues to provide him with inspiration today. Nathan has overcome tremendous adversity and loss to emerge as a talented Artist and Woodworker.
Early projects sparked a strong desire to return to my resourceful Cherokee Indian and farm-raised heritage by committing myself to find new life for old objects and new purpose for what others consider ‘garbage.’ I stopped throwing away the mountains of sawdust accumulating in my wood shop. I stopped giving my wood scraps to myfather-in-law to burn in his fireplace. I began recycling and reusing everything, from the autumn leaves on my lawn, to the pieces of my neighbor’s fallen tree, grass clippings in the summer to the grounds from my morning coffee.
After some experimentation, I found I could combine these materials with a bonding agent, a process that is now patent-pending, to create a multitude of artful, functional objects. These include floor tiles, countertops, sinks, inlays for cabinet doors and stair treads, kitchen utensils, and a multitude of other items for the home. All are made with re-envisioned, recycled or natural materials, along with locally harvested hardwoods, and sustainably grown tropical hardwoods.
Paula’s Impressions - Paula B. Cannon
Paula’s retirement as a Massachusetts educator in 2000 gave her the opportunity to pursue her love of photography. At this time digital photography was gaining popularity. Self-taught in digital photography, she now felt she had control throughout the creative process. This inspired Paula to pursue this interest, which has now resulted in a new career.
Her photos range from simple flowers, sleek skyscrapers, and dilapidated buildings to majestic scenery. Whatever is there is a subject where she tries to ‘Find the extra in the ordinary.’ Her photographs are available from note cards to large poster-sized prints.
Available at the show will be note cards, matted prints and some examples of framed pieces including my poster sized prints.
Trnna Lamson lives in Liberty. Mumma’s Bears and More started in 2004. It all started with a love of hand sewing and making different stuffed teddy bear patterns for her kids. Since then, coupled with a desire to find something to help her de-stress from life, it has evolved into the current teddy bear style. In the past couple years, Trinna has also started to branch out into other animals such as monkeys, elephants, dragons., penguins and more. All her animals are made with polyester polar fleece, hand-sewn with double strength thread, stuffed with 100% polyester fiberfill. They are able to take a good washing and drying (parents like that part the best). All eyes are sewn on polar fleece, to be completely kid- safe, and all happy mouths are cotton thread knotted for tough wear
