Olympian Julia Clukey to Speak at Winthrop High School on Thursday to provide presentation about good decision making to over 250 students~
WHAT:
Julia Clukey, 2010 Olympian and Augusta, Maine native will provide a motivational presentation at the Winthrop High School to over 250 students on Thursday, September 9 at 12:45 pm at the Winthrop Performing Arts Center.
Clukey, age 25, recently finished 17th in the luge competition at the 2010 Winter Olympic Games in Vancouver, Canada and has already announced that she plans to compete in the 2014 Winter Olympics in Sochi, Russia.
On Thursday she will share her experiences from growing up in Maine, the challenges she has faced during her career and share a message of individual responsibility with the students. The presentation, including a motivational and inspiring video is made possible by the Maine Beer & Wine Distributors Association as part of their ongoing responsibility campaign with Julia Clukey. WHY:
As the school year begins, the Winthrop High School has asked Julia Clukey to share her inspiring story and presentation about good decision making with the entire student body. In her presentation she will talk about and the responsibilities of being a student, pressure from family and friends and the importance of good decision making. This school year, the Maine Beer & Wine Distributors Association (MBWDA) has partnered with many high schools in Maine to the offer the special presentation from Julia Clukey as a part of their ongoing responsibility campaign as a way to emphasize the importance of good decision making.
