Each year, KV Connect adopts a family from the Domestic Violence Shelter for the Christmas Holiday to make their Christmas the best time of year for them. This year we have adopted a mom and 13 year old son, who are struggling and trying to start over.

November marks the end of a long campaign season here in Maine and has brought with it change. We will have a new administration in 2011, headed by Governor-Elect Paul LePage. There will be new Legislative Leadership as well as many new faces around the Statehouse.
The Maine Department of Inland Fisheries and Wildlife and the Maine Professional Guides Association are seeking nominations for the annual Wilmot “Wiggie” Robinson Legendary Maine Guide Award. The award, in its second year, is named in honor of Wilmot “Wiggie” Robinson, a well-respected outdoorsman who was a Maine Master Guide from 1950 until his death in 2007.

The Western Mountains Region Management Plan will guide BPL’s management of state parks and public lands for the next 15 years in a region that includes both the scenic and popular Rangeley Lakes area and the rugged, mountainous Mahoosuc region, according to BPL officials.
Inspirations, a women’s a cappella quartet, will perform at Lithgow Public Library on Tuesday, December 7 at 6:30 p.m. The holiday concert, which is free and open to the public, will take place in the library’s Reading Room.
According to the US Border Patrol six ounces of the drug were found on the bus in Sierra Blanca according to the El Paso newspaper. An officer had searched the vehicle after smelling the substance with three people, including Nelson, arrested.
After the Creatorium – Rockland’s Creative Emporium craft show at the Lincoln Street Center – the Midcoast’s electronic duo Vistas will be performing. This after party will take place Saturday December 4th, in the gymnasium at 24 Lincoln Street, from 6 to 9:30pm. Proceeds will benefit OUT! as I Want to Be, the place for GLBTQ youth to come together in Mid-Coast Maine.
