Domestic violence transcends race, age, gender and economic groups and it is widespread affecting over 4 million Americans each year. It’s likely you know someone whose been in an abusive situation – whether it be emotional or physical.Although domestic abuse, often times, is a difficult subject to speak about, it is a necessary discussion we must have with each other.

Circling the Square Fine Art Press in Gardiner is pleased to announce the award of three printmaking fellowship grants to Maine artists Martha Briana of Northport, Jeffrey Chapman of Gardiner, and Russ Gilchrist of Topsham. Thanks to the generous sponsorship of the J.W. Robinson Welfare Trust, Briana and Chapman will be pursuing independent printmaking projects for the next 10 months at Circling the Square, Maine’s only open-access fine art printmaking studio north of Portland.

Election News, Open Bookkeeper Position for the Gardiner Public Library and City Manager’s Report for October 7th Posted for the City of Gardiner

The Gardiner Public Library is seeking a local bookkeeper to aid the treasurer of the Gardiner Library Association. A successful applicant should have knowledge of Intuit’s Quickbooks, Microsoft’s Access database management tools (or other accounting software) and be able to reconcile bank statements, individual donations, and corporate donations as well as manage grant payments. The bookkeeper will be responsible for gathering financial information and reconciling the report with a certified public accountant.
