I commend Gov. LePage for bringing this issue to the attention of the people of Maine. For too long, men (mostly) have gotten away with domestic violence, be it sexual, emotional or physical. The people of Maine need to realize that when a girl or woman takes a sexual assault case to the courts, 99.9% of the time she is a victim. Few would go through the he##$$##*&^ that testifying in court requires. And furthermore, the state needs to do a better job educating the District Attorney that represents the victim in court. If need be, take some of their duties from them so they have time to prepare adequately for the court case in which they face a private prosecutor. State vs. private lawyer. Be prepared. A sexual assault victim (minor) does not get to choose a lawyer. The state appoints a District Attorney. If he does not do a good job, the jury is apt to go with the defendant instead of seeing justice done. The plaintiff is stuck. She loses her case due to poor representation by the state District Attorney. Please clean up this process.

Are these dudes really on a mini iceberg in the middle of a Maine lake or is it a Photoshop job of cut and paste? I do not feel that Commissioner Woodcock would feel this is a sensible picture to let the public see. I’m sure the game wardens would not be pleased to see this either!
