The Mad Dog is a gastropub reminiscent of an old world European pub, bistro or trattoria. We have been compared to some of our customers’ favorite eateries in Bordeaux, Glasgow, New York, San Francisco, and Portland’s Old Port district.
A wonderful new week begins with your chance to come on down to the wonderful Mad Dog Open Mic this Tuesday at 7pm. At the Mad Dog you will be able to listen and play in this fine sounding bar and have a rather wonderful time.
On Friday, March 16: Logan Johnston and Rick Dosedlo bring their unique interpretations of old favorites and new original compositions to the Mad Dog stage;
And on Saturday, March 17: Don’t miss local guitarist Ken Graham’s renditions of Irish ballads and drinking songs in celebration of St. Patrick’s Day!
Musicians, Poets and Comedians all come to this warm bar to enjoy the camaraderie, fun and friendship.The evening is broken down into 20 minute segments and sign up is done on the night. Easy, fun with a great many tunes you ‘ll know and love and want to sing a long to.

Gardiner Main Street, The City of Gardiner, and The Gardiner Board of Trade were delighted to welcome staff from The Orton Foundation to lay the groundwork for our exciting transformative adventure over the next year through the “Heart and Soul” community planning process. Details on the project will continue to emerge. The team is looking for dedicated community members who are interested in serving on our “Community Advisory Team”, who will help shape the project and steward the process. And on Saturday, January 21st, we introduce Justin Walton to the Mad Dog musical lineup! Although many will know Justin as the music teacher at Gardiner Junior High School, Justin is also an accomplished songwriter and performer! Justin’s latest release is the full-length solo album “It Takes a Toll.” Fans of the bands Dreadnaught and Actual Size will also recognize Justin as a founding member and composer for both.
I’ve picked up a last minute gig from Heidi at The Mad Dog tonight. I will be playing between 7 – 10PM tonight and to quote me from earlier, ” I will be playing tonight down at THE MAD D0G and I’m going to be joined by Tom Petty, Bruce Springsteen, Ry Cooder, Aretha Franklin, Lady Ga Ga, Frank Sinatra, Gladys Knight and around midnight the Pip’s may will make an appearance.
