Photographer Jeff Wood shows off some of his great work. Woody has been taking photos since age 13 when he used the 126 Instamatic. He’s honed his craft since then to take the kind of iconic Maine photos only a native can capture. Come for light hors d’oeuvres, spirits, beautiful music and be ready to own one of Jeff’s prints if the spirit moves you.
Exhibit curator Heather Frederick, Director of VoxPhotographs states, “These artists have combined their personal histories, true or fabricated, with perceived social demands of the present times.” With bold photographic interpretations of what was, what is, or what might have been, these New England-based photographers collectively guarantee a journey that invites us to add our own experiences and perceptions into the mix.”

We are Maine Traditional Film Photographers. We are dedicated film( analogue) camera users. We meet once a month- the 2nd Tuesday of each month at the Harlow Gallery in Hallowell, ME.. Time: 6:30 pm- 8:30-9:00 pm.
“The name FOCUSMAINE comes from the obvious connection to the camera, but also as a vehicle to focus attention on Maine’s fine art photography community,” says Frederick. “There’s a need to develop a collector base from the ground up for fine art photographs as seasoned art collectors are mostly defining their collections with paintings, prints and sculpture. But fine art photographs are relatively new to the art market and we want to focus collectors’ attention on Maine’s large and hugely talented community.”
On Thursday, August 12th from 7-8:30 pm, UMA professor Roger Richmond will present The Amazing World of 3 – Dimensional Photography at the Harlow Gallery in Hallowell. ArtTalks at the Harlow have been made possible thanks to our sponsor, Savings Bank of Maine.
