Lonely toymaker Geppetto has his wishes answered when the Blue Fairy arrives to bring his wooden puppet Pinocchio to life. Before becoming a real boy, however, Pinocchio must prove he’s worthy as he sets off on an adventure with his whistling sidekick and conscience, The Talking Cricket. From The Fire Eater’s Puppet Theater to The Land Of The Dingalings, Pinocchio is tested by many temptations, but slowly learns how to navigate right from wrong. With a few mishaps along the way, Geppetto’s “little woodenhead” finally gets it right, proving that when you wish upon a star dreams really can come true!

Heroes, by Tom Stoppard (adapted from Gérald Sibleyras’sLe Vent des peupliers), tells the tale of three aging WWI veterans, in a French retirement home, who vow to undertake one last adventure together-escape. But what happens if the promise of freedom on the horizon isn’t as easy to grab as the certainty of soup tomorrow? Veering from the poignant to the absurd, Stoppard’s sharp-witted comedy is a heartwarming tale of cantankerous camaraderie amidst the frustrations inherent in growing older.
The Ogunquit Playhouse, America’s Foremost Summer Theatre, is set to celebrate its 80th Anniversary season May 23 to October 21, 2012. Join the celebration with a lineup that offers a mix of Broadway’s most enduring musical classics, along with some of the hottest new shows on stage today. The musical Little Me is based on the novel by Patrick Dennis titled Little Me: The Intimate Memoirs of that Great Star of Stage, Screen and Television/Belle Poitrine, an illustrated autobiography of an imaginary diva (published in 1961). In his memoir, Rewrites:A Memoir, Neil Simon wrote that aside from tailoring the musical’s book to the talents of Sid Caesar, the second attraction of the project was a chance to work with choreographer Bob Fosse.

Aqua City Actors Theatre (ACAT) presents Richard Greenberg’s Pulitzer Prize nominated play, Three Days of Rain, March 9-11 and 16-18. Directed by Joseph Klapatch, the drama highlights the talent of actors Heidi Holst, Evan Sposato and Tim Croce.
