He has brought his high energy antics to some of the finest venues in the U.S. and beyond including The Kennedy Center, The WhiteHouse, The Keller Theater in Germany, and the FestaAmericana in Italy. He calls Maine home and for many years owned and ran the delightful Oddfellow Theater in Buckfield, ME where he nurtured many of the state’s most creative talents (including two of our favorites – Audiobody’s Tardy Brothers).
By The Who’s Pete Townshend and Des McAnuff Directed by Michael Donovan The Who’s 1969 rock opera Tommy, brings to life the story of a boy named Tommy who is traumatized into catatonia by witnessing his father commit murder. Rock classics such as “Pinball Wizard” and “See Me” bring us along as we follow Tommy out of his catatonic state and into superstardom as an international pinball superstar, and face to face with his young self in the end.

On April 28th, The Veayo Twins, a local duo with sweet vocal harmonies and keyboard, guitar and drum skills, WON the 2012 MAMM SLAM – Maine’s High School Rock Off, at Asylum. This dynamic duo beat out 11 other bands for $1000 in cash, recording time, gigs, studio tours and TV and radio appearances. Katherine Veayo also won Best Alternate Instrument: Keyboard!

You may not be familiar with Cheryl, but you have probably heard her music. She is very respected as a songwriter by her peers, which can be seen by how many of them record her songs. Chery’s songs have been covered by artists as diverse as Dan Seals, Peter Paul and Mary, Kenny Loggins, Garth Brooks, Suzy Boggus, Melanie, Bette Midler, Maura O’Connell, Sylvia, Kathy Mattea, and Holly Near. If they think she is great, then you owe it to yourself to learn more if you aren’t familiar with her.
Maine’s premier Celtic folk duo, Castlebay, presents a concert of Celtic and New England traditional music on Friday, May 18, at 7:30 pm at Johnson Hall Performing Arts Center, 280 Water Street, Gardiner. Julia Lane and Fred Gosbee are Castlebay. Their concerts feature poignant ballads sung in Lane’s ethereal soprano and Gosbee’s rich baritone interspersed with joyous dance tunes played on Celtic harp, guitar, fiddle and tin whistle.

Constanten was adopted as the seventh member of the Grateful Dead during the recording of the band’s second album, Anthem Of the Sun (Warner Brothers, 1968). The pianist was a child prodigy who wrote orchestral pieces as a teenager while growing up in Las Vegas. In the summer of 1961, TC met Dead bassist Phil Lesh at Berkeley, where each professed a love for classical music. The two became roommates and enrolled in a graduate-level course taught by Berio at Mills College in Oakland.
