Passamaquoddy Tribe Gives Maine Department of Transportation Commissioner Checks Totaling 1.9 Million Dollars

Augusta -In a ceremony Tuesday at the State House, Governor LePage and Maine DOT Commissioner David Bernhardt were presented with two checks from Chief Joseph Socobasin of the Passamaquoddy Tribe of Indian Township, Maine, totaling $1,900,000.

John Bear Mitchell, associate director of the Wabanaki Center at the University of Maine, will discuss teaching Wabanaki history and culture in Maine schools at 7 p.m. Thursday, November 4, 2010, in Searles Science Building, Room 315. The talk is open to the public and admission is free.
