Come see our new exhibit of photography by Braelyn Degnan on the first Friday in May! “Why is She Taking a Picture of That?!”
Braelyn Degnan bought her first camera last spring on a whim and now brings it nearly everywhere with her. Preferring ncommon subjects, the mutterings of passerby’s inspired this series’s title.She works in social services and her other interests include ood books, bad television and rock shows.

Talk of the 1930s evokes images of food lines, unemployed people looking for work, belt tightening, government programs, and other economic hardship associated with the Great Depression. While Maine and Mainers experienced a number of economic hardships, that fact does not tell the whole story of Maine in the 1930s.
