The 40th Annual Walker Maritime History Symposium is just a few weeks away. Reservations are higher than they were at this point last year, so there’s no time like the present to call your friends and invite them to join you for a day that promises entertaining discussion and enlightenment. Speakers will present on a wide range of topics, all related to the Symposium theme “The History and Future of the Maritime Experience.
Although March 1st has come in like a white blanket, we’re still looking forward to the first day of spring at the end of the month, and Bath Blarney Days, March 11-17th. We’ll be celebrating the greening of spring with all things Irish including a “More than Blarney” cultural evening, Shamrock Sprint 5K, Tug o’ War, Irish Soda Bread baking contest, St. Patick’s Day parade and various other shenanigans. As lead-in to the event, downtown Bath’s Pot o’ Gold Passport Challenge begins this weekend…
Schooner Fare has won unanimous critical praise for captivating harmonies and winning stage presence. In addition to their numerous original songs on both contemporary and traditional themes, the band also writes and performs topical songs, country ballads and maritime masterpieces that have made their name synonymous with the “Down East” style.
