2011 was a remarkable year for our festival. And now that the dust has finally settled, we’d like to give a heartfelt thanks to all the filmmakers, industry, sponsors, contributors, volunteers and most importantly audience members who made this year’s Camden International Film Festival so darn special. Thank you. We appreciate your commitment to our organization and we are constantly amazed at the level of support we receive year after year. We could not do this without you.
This coming Saturday, November 5, 2011, 10:15AM- 1:15PM the Maine Film & Video Association (MFVA) is holding a panel discussion in collaboration with the JUICE 3.0 conference titled: “Building the Next Community Media Portal — Social Media for Social Good”. Highlighting the panel will be Rockland’s Ben Levine, a Juice Keynote Speaker, who with the Passamaquoddy people has developed an internet tool that uses documentary film and an interactive dictionary to help save their dying language.
Fall Benefit Concert in Support of HOPE ELEPHANTS Performances by several Maine-based artists including pianist Paul Sullivan, singer and pianist Gintare – music by Swing Shift featuring Gary Clancy, and humor by The Humble Farmer. Master of Ceremonies is Slim Boodbody (aka John Burstein). There will also be a silent auction with items on view prior to the concert and silent auction and cash bar during intermission. Silent Auction viewing begins at 6 PM. Auditorium Doors will open at 6:30 PM. TICKETS ON SALE BEGINNING THURSDAY, OCTOBER 27.
Originally from Maine, Bob Marley began performing stand up comedy in his hometown of Portland. He moved to Boston early in his career, gaining experience in a city known for spawning comedy all-stars. He now has a weekly radio call in segment with several radio stations around the country called The World According to Bob. Winner of last years XM/Sirius Superbowl of Comedy, he continually makes new fans around the country.

The Camden International Film Festival and Asymmetrick Arts present the third annual PANOPTIC, an exhibition of new media installation and experimental documentary shorts. Join us on the evening of Wednesday September 28th for a gallery opening and film screening. This year PANOPTIC is partnering with DiscordiaFilms, a curatorial collective dedicated to the exchange and promotion of experimental video art made in the Americas.

When Dave Morrison and his band the Juke Savages played their final gig at the Bitter End in NYC he was faced with a big question; “Now what do I do with the music in my head?” The answer finally came in 2011 with the publication of Clubland, a collection of poems about rock & roll bars written in verse and meter. The juxtaposition of these gritty stories and classic poetic forms such as sonnets, villanelles, triolets and terza rima has begun to attract a varied audience.
