Artwalk Gardiner was formally launched in the fall of 2005 by the Artdogs™ studios and a handful of area artists who exhibited their work to a well attended, appreciative audience. Artwalk Gardiner is a non-juried, member-run organization that accepts artists within a twenty-mile radius of downtown Gardiner. Through regular exhibitions in downtown Gardiner, the Artwalk’s mission is to increase community awareness and appreciation of the visual arts; to encourage interaction with local artists and the public by providing artists with a supportive network that fosters the creative economy.

We’ll be hosting three guests from the Orton Family Foundation (our grant funders for the Heart & Soul Community Planning project), who will help us demonstrate what it means to gather stories from the community, translate these stories to values, and show how these values can then turn into actions and informed policy decisions. We anticipate this to be a highly interactive workshop.
