Dawn McAndrews is an accomplished director, producer, educator, and dramaturge who has worked at theatres across the country including Shakespeare Theatre Company, Steppenwolf Theatre, Goodman Theatre, Arena Stage, Portland Stage Company and as artistic director of Shakespeare Festival St. Louis. Recent directing credits include The Glass Menagerie and Three Days of Rain (1st Stage) Sarah Ruhl’s Eurydice (The Orange Girls) and Timberlake Wertenbaker’s Antigone (Saint Louis University). Other regional credits include The Winter’s Tale, Romeo and Juliet, The Comedy of Errors, At Twilight, and The Mousetrap at The Theater At Monmouth in 2009.

The Theater At Monmouth is proud to present Room Service, a hilarious farce filled with silly situations and crazy hijinx.In the production, a group of actors try to produce what they believe to be a real hit play before a gaggle of creditors close in and shut them down. The 1937 Broadway version of Room Service inspired the much-loved Marx Brothers film.
Director’s Notes
We are setting this ”swinging” production of Much Ado About Nothing in Post World War II Europe as war and its aftermath is a prevalent theme throughout the play. Much Ado begins with the returning home of troops from war. That which has been so disrupted by fear and darkness can now begin anew, or as the lyrics in the song “Sigh No More” state: “converting all your sounds of woe into hey nonny, nonny”!
The Theater At Monmouth is looking for volunteers for their 2011 summer season. Volunteers are an essential part of making our theater run smoothly and efficiently each summer. We are looking for volunteers to help us with ushering, parking, and operating the concessions and gift shops.
Monmouth Community Players announces its 2012 season. January 20-29 they will present the popular musical “You’re a Good Man, Charlie Brown,” by Clark Gesner, directed by Lucy Rioux with musical direction by Rebecca Caron. This classic based on the Peanuts comics has been revised in recent years to include different members of the gang and a few new songs. It’s fun for the whole family! Next, March 23-April 1 they will offer up the hilarious comedy “Moonlight and Magnolias,” by Ron Hutchinson, directed by Linda Duarte.
Swing Dance Party! Saturday, June 18th at 7:30pm Come and us for a fun swing dance party in the Theater at Cumston! Join cast members of Much Ado About Nothing as they swing dance with instructor Jessica Ernest. This event is meant to be informal and fun, and everyone is welcome to join the party! Tickets are just $5 each!!!
The popular Free Movie Night series continues at Cumston Hall with Nöel Coward’s Blithe Spirit on Friday, May 27 at 7:00 p.m.
A collaboration of The Theater At Monmouth and Cumston Public Library, the series offers free entertainment for the whole family to enjoy. All movies in the series will be shown in the library lower level in Cumston Hall.
The Theater At Monmouth is in need of a mounted moose head for upcoming summer show Room Service. The moose head would be used as a part of the set for a period of ten weeks at the most, from mid-June to late August.
