Gamescom kicked off the two-hour Opening Night Live presentation on Tuesday, hosted by Geoff Keighley of The Game Awards. Streamed live on both YouTube and Twitch – and also personally hosted in Cologne, Germany – Keighley and Opening Night Live broadcast updates and announcements for over 30 games, including Dead Island 2, Hogwarts Legacy, Gotham Knights, and Sonic Limits.
Here are all the announcements from Opening Night Live, including some that aren’t really games, like Hideo Kojima’s podcast and a Pokémon car.
It’s hard to say exactly what Everywhere is based on the teaser trailer, but there’s shooting, driving, explosions, space, and apparently an open world from developer Build A Rocket Boy. Everywhere is planned for 2023.
Funcom is making a Dune game called dune awakening, a survival, open-world MMO.
Hogwarts Legacy got a new trailer during Gamescom 2022’s Opening Night Live, all focused on the dark arts. It is expected on February 10, 2023 on PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Windows PC, Xbox One, Xbox Series X and Nintendo Switch.
Gearbox announced New stories from the border countriesan episodic narrative game that picks up after 2015 Stories from the borderlands. It follows three new “sweet losers” who must save the world. Coming in October.
Former Bethesda Game Studios designer Jeff Gardiner and Obsidian Entertainment alumnus Charlie Staples founded and announced Something Wicked Games Wyrdsong on Tuesday.
Zombie Role Playing Dead Island 2 was originally announced in 2014, but has been revealed again at Gamescom 2022. There are six playable characters, with a “pulpy and irreverent tone”. It is expected on February 3, 2023 on PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Windows PC, Xbox One and Xbox Series X.
The Callisto protocol
The Callisto protocol coming December 2, and new live gameplay was showcased during Tuesday’s event. There are tentacles! Tentacles that mutate.
Hoyoverse has the next update for Genshin impactshowing off a lush rainforest world.
Honkai: Star Rail
Honkai: Star Rail is the next game from Hoyoverse and the developer showed off a short teaser trailer for the game.
Friends vs Friends
In one of the more exciting and colorful trailers on Opening Night Live, publisher Raw Fury showed friends vs friends, a card based shooter.
WB Games Montreal has shared a new trailer for Gotham Knights during Opening Night Live. The trailer gave us an idea of who the team will be fighting against, as well as an earlier release date on October 21.
Where winds meet
Where winds meet is an action game with swordsmanship and bows, and it looks pretty sweet.

lies from P, apparently inspired by Pinocchio, got a new trailer. It’ll be on Game Pass on release day.
A new studio, Ironbird Creations, from publisher All in! Games has announced its new game, Phantom Hellcat. The 3D hack-and-slash game features a teenage protagonist who hunts for evil. No word on the release date, but it is expected to come to Windows PC and consoles.

After being announced earlier this year, Goat Simulator 3has a gameplay trailer that shows exactly how all that chaos will play out.

Killer Klowns from Space: The Game is an adaptation of the 1988 film, which was also adapted for Nintendo in 1989.
High in life
Justin Roiland’s Squanch Games showed a new trailer for High in lifethe Rick and Morty the creator’s first-person shooter where the weapons (and other weapons) talk. It’s coming to Windows PC, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X on December 13.

The Lords of the Fallen was announced by Hexworks. It’s a sequel to 2014 Lords of the Fallenand is coming to PlayStation 5, Windows PC and Xbox Series X. In the three-minute trailer, Hexworks showed the dark fantasy world.

survive mars developer Haemimont Games showed off Stranded: Alien Down, the planet survival simulator, coming early to PC in October. Players help a group of settlers survive in a “deadly alien world,” according to a press release.

The next game from Parallel Studios and Quantic Dream is Under the wavescoming in 2023 on PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Windows PC, Xbox One and Xbox Series X.
Sonic Limits will be released on November 8 on Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Windows PC, Xbox One and Xbox Series X.
Focus Entertainment and Deck13 Interactive have announced their new action fantasy role-playing game: Atlas Cases. Described as a “semi-open world full of ancient mysteries and threats,” it’s coming to PlayStation 5, Windows PC, and Xbox Series X in 2023. It looks like there’s going to be a lot of sandflies.

On Tuesday, developer Red Barrels showed a new take on The Outlast Trials. It is the next game in the Outlast franchise and for the first time it is multiplayer. A closed beta period is planned for this year.
Unknown worlds that made Subnauticsannounced moonbreaker during Opening Night Live. The developer described it as: heart stone meets xcom, but with miniatures you can paint. It comes on September 29 for early access.
New images from Homeworld 3 was shown, focused on space combat by large fleets. It will come in the first half of 2023.
