Artemis 1 traffic jam: NASA moon launch may draw crowd of 400,000

A crowd the size of a major U.S. city could watch NASA’s Artemis 1 moon rocket this weekend.

Artemis 1 was due to launch Monday morning (Aug. 29) from the Kennedy Space Center, in Florida’s Brevard County. According to city officials (opens in new tab)100,000 to 200,000 people flocked to the Space Coast to see that attempt, which was scrubbed due to a problem with one of the first-stage engines on Artemis 1’s Space Launch System (SLS) missile.
