‘I feel like a jerk!’: Ashton Kutcher publicly apologizes to Harry Styles after extremely awkward encounter
Ashton Kutcher has publicly apologized to hitmaker Harry Styles for an extremely awkward encounter at a mutual friend’s party.
The actor, 44, admitted he had no idea who the former One Direction singer was when they first met – which led to him making some embarrassing comments.
Kutcher revealed in an interview with Esquire that he and his actress wife Mila Kunis were attending their neighbor’s lavish party when the awkward encounter happened.
He explained that he was left in awe after seeing a partygoer perform ABBA while doing karaoke and felt compelled to compliment the performance.
As it turned out, the performer was Styles, 29, and Kutcher was none the wiser.

Kutcher recalled, “I said, ‘Man, I have something to tell you. You’re really good, really, really good.'”
To which the singer humbly thanked and said that he “appreciated” the compliment.
To Kutcher’s shock, his friend then told him it was a famous singer, requiring his wife to explain to Ms. Kunis that Styles was in fact a big name in the music business and part of the former boy band One Direction.
Kutcher recalled, “I was like, ‘Oh my god, now I feel like a jerk'”. He’s a professional singer and we’re trying to tell him he’s a good singer!’
He then issued a public apology through the magazine, saying, “I just really want to say I’m sorry, Harry Styles. But you’re really good at karaoke, man. Seriously, really good.’
It comes after Styles was officially added to the growing roster of artists at the 2023 Grammy Awards, which will be held on February 5.
The As It Was hitmaker has been nominated for a whopping six awards for his record-breaking album Harry’s House, which came out in May 2022.
Harry’s House is the former One Direction member’s third solo studio album since the boy band went on “permanent hiatus” in August 2015.

He also had four songs from the album on the US Billboard Hot 100 Chart, making him the first UK solo artist to achieve this.
As It Was spent 15 consecutive weeks at number one on the Billboard charts, becoming the longest-running US number-one by a British act and the fourth-longest-running number-one in the chart’s history.
