New Delhi:
Twitter users’ current obsession with the trend of boycotting Bollywood movies found another target after Aamir Khan’s Laal Singh Chaddha and Akshay Kumar’s Raksha Bandhan – Hrithik Roshan and his movie Vikram Vedha. What’s even more bizarre than the boycott is the reason some of the internet offers. The call to boycott Hrithik Roshan and his film started after the actor gave a shout out to Aamir Khan’s film. Laal Singh Chaddha in his latest tweet.Laal Singh Chaddha became the unwilling center of controversy after a section of the internet dug up Aamir Khan’s 2015 interview excerpts in which he said his ex-filmmaker, wife Kiran Rao, had suggested moving from one country to another because of “growing intolerance.”
In his cry to Laal Singh ChaddhaHrithik Roshan wrote: “Just watched Laal Singh Chaddha. I felt the HEART of this movie. Pluses and minuses aside, this movie is just beautiful. Don’t miss this gem guys! To go ! Go now . Look at it. It is beautiful. Just beautiful.”
Just watched LAAL SINGH CHADDA. I felt the HEART of this movie. Pluses and minuses aside, this movie is just beautiful. Don’t miss this gem guys! To go ! Go now . Look at it. It is beautiful. Just beautiful.

Akshay Kumar’s Raksha Bandhan also became the target of a boycott trend after internet users dug up the four-year-old tweets of the film writer Kanika Dhillon. Both Aamir and Akshay reacted to the boycott of their respective films during interviews. Meanwhile, both films have had disappointing box-office collections thus far. Laal Singh Chaddha collected Rs 45 crore in 5 days while Raksha Bandhan has collected Rs 34 crore in 5 days.
“If you don’t feel like watching the movie, don’t do it. It’s a free country and the movie is there, so if anyone wants to see it or not, it’s up to them. I’d tell you, it “It doesn’t matter what industry it is, be it the clothing industry, the film industry or something else, all these things help the economy. But doing things like boycotting movies doesn’t make sense,” Akshay told PTI. While Amir previously told PTI in an interview: “That boycott Bollywood… Boycott Aamir Khan… Boycott” Laal Singh Chaddha… I also feel sad because many people who say this in their hearts believe that I am someone who does not love India … In their hearts they believe that … And that is not true at all. I really like the country… That’s me. It’s kind of sad when some people feel that way.”
Speaking of Vikram Vedha, it is a Hindi remake of the 2017 Tamil neo-noir action thriller of the same name which was also written and directed by Pushkar-Gayathri. The film, which was a success and received critical acclaim from critics, featured Madhavan and Vijay Setupathi in the lead roles. Besides Hrithik Roshan, Saif Ali Khan will also star.
