“They’re not bad people,” he continued. “They know what we’re going through right now. They want our future to be the way we want it to be. They just want to watch over us.”
Federline also explained why he and his 16-year-old brother Sean Preston decided not to attend their mother’s star-studded wedding to Sam Asghari in June.
“It just wasn’t a good time to go. I’m not saying I’m not happy for her,” he said. “I’m very happy for them, but she didn’t invite the whole family, and if it had just been me and Preston, I don’t see how that situation would have ended on good terms.”
Federline said he and his brother are “very united”.
“He always takes care of me and I take care of him,” he said. “We make sure we’re both mentally healthy.”
Spears has raised concerns on Instagram for posting nude photos of herself and protracted rants against her family.
To Federline, Spears’ posts seem like a cry for attention.
“It’s almost like she has to post something on Instagram to get attention,” he said. “This has been going on for years and years and years, and chances are it will never stop, but for me I hope she will.”
