Here are five last-minute iPhone 14 rumors you should know before Tim Cook takes the stage at Apple’s September 7 event.
1. The iPhone 14 Pro price hike looks real
The iPhone 14 Pro promises a lot of upgrades, including a new one
48MP cameraa always-on displayfaster A16 Bionic chip, and ditching the notch in favor of a few notches. It can also start with 256 GB storage space.
But you should be willing to pay more, as Wedbush analyst Dan Ives says:
Apple charges $100 more for the iPhone 14 Pro and iPhone 14 Pro Max. So you would be looking at $1,100 to $1,200 for the new Pro iPhones. that’s new MacBook Air territory.
A leaker yeux1122
(opens in new tab)on the Korean site Naver claims that the iPhone 14 price could go in a “completely different direction than expected” (opens in new tab) but we don’t know what they mean by that. 2. Phone 14 Pro hands-on photos and all colors

As we get closer to an iPhone launch, you’ll see alleged dummy units appearing in the wild, which is exactly what happened with the iPhone 14 Pro.
First, a leaker called Sleepy Afternoon posted a short
hands-on video with an iPhone 14 Pro showing a new purple color that shifts in the light. Other leaked colors include silver, graphite, gold and blue.
Ice Universe and other sources also show us what the death of the notch looks like. It will reportedly be replaced with a punch hole for the camera and a pill-shaped cutout for Face ID technology. And the new cropping method seems to leave more screen space. But there’s news from the notch front…
3. iPhone 14 Pro Notch Replacement Can Be Pill Shape Notch
Early iPhone 14 rumors said that the iPhone 14 Pro would have two cutouts to the two of the screen. But now the rumors of the iPhone 14 Pro’s dual cutouts are reportedly being replaced by a long pill-shaped design. So you could argue that Apple just moves the notch down.
Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman backs up this rumor, posting the following:
Twitter (opens in new tab): “This is true. It looks like one wide pill-shaped recess. That separation would look strange in use.”
It gets more interesting. According to 9to5Mac
(opens in new tab), this new pill-shaped cutout hides a very useful feature. A “source of knowledge of Apple’s plans” says the space between the two cutouts will contain two privacy indicator lights: one for the microphone and one for the camera. 4. There may be a satellite connection of the iPhone 14
If you’re in an area with no cellular coverage and need to send an emergency message, the new iPhones let you do it with
iPhone 14 support for satellite communications. The hardware side has reportedly already been tested, but analyst Ming-Chi Kuo claims Apple is negotiating with operators to finalize a deal.
Bonus Rumor: Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman Says:
satellite connection could be coming to the Apple Watch 8 Proat. 5. Ultra-wide camera upgrade
The iPhone 14 Pro has already been tipped for a major upgrade for its main camera, starting from
12MP to 48MP For the first time. The addition of the larger sensor could also mean 8K video support for Apple’s Pro phones.
Now a last-minute forecast from Ming-Chi Kuo says Apple will
iPhone 14 Pro and iPhone 14 Pro Max ultra-wide camera with a larger sensor with larger pixels. The pixel size on this updated sensor will reportedly be 1.4 micrometers, a nice boost from the 1.0 micrometer pixels of the iPhone 13 Pro. This should allow the iPhone 14 Pros to capture more light, especially at night. And low-light photography is one area where Apple’s cameras could improve. 6. iPhone 14 Pro 30W Charging Boost
DuanRui (opens in new tab) says the iPhone 14 Pro series will get a new 30W charger with gallium nitride. The gist is that you can charge faster without worrying about excess heat. The iPhone 13 series charged 20W taking the phone to 51% capacity in 30 minutes – not terrible but needs an upgrade to compete with some of the fastest charging phones
Apple already has a GaN charger in the lineup for the
16-inch MacBook Proso this enhanced charging rumor is certainly believable. 7. iPhone 14 Max is really the iPhone 14 Plus
We’ve heard this one before, but now there seems to be confirmation from a Twitter user (via 9to5 Mac
(opens in new tab)) that the 6.7-inch iPhone 14 Max will actually be called the iPhone 14 Plus.
The Twitter user named @Tommyboiiiiii posted images of what appear to be cases for the iPhone 14 Plus, so it could be legit.
iPhone 14 bottom line
The more rumors that surface, the more confident we are that the iPhone 14 Pro will be many times better than the iPhone 14 this year. But maybe there are some upgrades to the regular iPhone that we don’t know about yet.
