Kevin Feige Really Wanted to Resolve Whether Captain America Was a Virgin

Little spoilers ahead for She-Hulk: Attorney at Law’s first episode!

The question of whether Captain America was a virgin has been one of the biggest discussions among MCU fans, and, thanks in large part to Marvel head Kevin Feige, She-Hulk: Attorney at Law has finally helped shed some light on the first’s love life. avenger.

The first episode of She-Hulk: Attorney at Law stars Tatiana Maslany’s Jennifer Walters and Dr. Mark Ruffalo’s Bruce Banner in a car and they begin to discuss Cap’s virginity question. Walters claims that because of his talent for always saving the world before and after the freeze, he never had the time to lose his virginity.

After initially refusing to discuss his friend’s love life, Banner eventually reveals that “Steve Rogers is not a virgin. He lost his virginity to a girl in 1943 during the USO tour.”

As reported by THR, She-Hulk showrunner Jessica Gao spoke to io9 when she shared that Feige was all for investigating this question and ultimately taking the debate to the proverbial bed.

“Kevin really loved that joke and he was actually the one who volunteered the answer to that question,” Gao said. “I couldn’t believe that we could finally resolve that issue once and for all.”

Gao also spoke about the philosophy of the writing team on She-Hulk of not only exploring the topics MCU fans were trying to answer, but asking forgiveness rather than permission and pushing the boundaries of what questions could be asked. addressed.

“Our philosophy was really that we just have to do things until they tell us we can’t, because if you start asking for permission too much, you’re giving people a chance to say no,” Gao said.

While he didn’t reveal the answer, Captain America actor Chris Evans did speak to Vanity Fair on the subject in 2014, saying, “Cap puts what he wants last. That’s his way of working, and I think he’s been refusing people for so long. So it’s hard to spot a man who doesn’t want to make waves with his own personal conflict.”

“It’s funny when you think about it,” Evans continued. “He’s probably still a virgin. He’s probably still a virgin! I don’t know when it would have happened.”

Evans decided to share that he believes Cap was probably after Peggy Carter, but he left a small space for a special dancing girl.

“He was on tour. Maybe, that’s true,” Evans said. “Maybe one of those… [dancing] girls blew his mind.” He laughed and added, “He’s probably just a good guy. He probably held up for Peggy Carter and in that sense he’s probably a bit more old-fashioned. These are a lot of things that I think are massive conflicts, but they’re also very personal conflicts. He is a very human man. That’s why I like him.”

More recently, Evans tweeted a response to the conversation in She-Hulk, letting emojis do the talking.

Ruffalo also did not hesitate to respond, and said, “Sorry bro. It was under extreme pressure.”
