Leaked videos show Finnish PM Sanna Marin partying

Finnish Prime Minister Sanna Marin is facing calls to take a drug test after she was captured in leaked mobile phone videos dancing and partying wildly with her famous friends.

Marin, who at age 36 is one of the youngest heads of state in the world, defended her behavior seen in the viral clips and vehemently denied using drugs.

“I myself have not used drugs, or anything other than alcohol. I’ve danced, sang and partied and done completely legal things,” she said at a press conference on Thursday.

Videos apparently from a private Instagram account showed the Finnish leader twirling her hips and dancing with her friends with great fervor.

Supposedly from a private Instagram account, the footage shows Marin and a group of friends, including Finnish musicians, TV personalities and politicians, dancing and singing.

Dressed in a black tank top and white pants, you could see the glamorous Prime Minister of Finland spinning her hips, pumping her fists with enthusiasm and making funny faces with her girlfriends in front of the camera, in what appears to be a private apartment.

After the bomb leak, Finnish MP Mikko Kärnä, from Marin’s coalition partner Center Party, tweeted that Marin should take a voluntary drug test and make the results public.

“The people should also expect this from their prime minister,” he wrote.

During Thursday’s press conference, Marin insisted she only drank alcohol — but not too much — and partied “in a rambunctious way.”

“I haven’t taken drugs, so it’s not a problem to take a drug test, but I also think it’s very special that something like this is necessary,” she told reporters, adding that she “has nothing to hide or hide.” .”

The 36-year-old European leader insisted her actions were completely legal. Marin also said she knew she was filmed at the social event a few weeks ago, but expected the footage to remain private.

Marin, 36, said the party took place privately for a few weeks in two private residences, with about 20 guests.

“It feels bad that they have been published,” she lamented.

Marin also revealed that the raw footage was shot during meetings in two separate apartments with about 20 guests.

Those in attendance included Finnish singer Alma, rapper Petri Nygard, TV presenter Tinni Wikstrom and MPs from Marin’s Social Democratic Party.

Earlier this week, German publication praised Bild Marin as “the coolest prime minister in the world”.

In December, Marin had to apologize for going to a club after coming into contact with someone who tested positive for COVID.

This isn’t the first time Marin’s affinity for partying has gotten her into trouble.

In December 2021, she had to apologize for spending a night in a nightclub after coming into close contact with someone who tested positive for COVID.

Marin said she missed a text telling her to self-isolate for leaving her work phone at home, although as Prime Minister she was required to carry the device with her at all times.

“I’m very sorry I didn’t understand that I had to do that,” Marin said at the time as part of her mea culpa.
