Over the Halloween weekend, Blizzard announced that nerfs are coming to five overpowered Overwatch 2 heroes ahead of the previously scheduled season 2 update in December.

in a official post on his Overwatch 2 forum, overwatch Community Manager Andy Belford has announced that on November 15, five heroes will receive fewer rewards for their heroic tricks. eating gremlin D.Va, the hacker girl Sombra, and the furry healer, Kiriko.

Prior to these nerfs, the Overwatch 2 team stated, in a blog post from October 13, that it wouldn’t make changes to characters until its second competitive season. In the post, Blizzard noted that while some heroes outperformed others, “no hero’s overall power level is far from our goals.” The one exception at the time was Zarya’s newfound ability to choose where to place each of her two particle barriers, which the team said they’d be keeping a close eye on for “potential changes next season.”

  • Shuriken damage reduced from 29 to 27

  • Duration of the barrier reduced from 2.5 to 2 seconds
