Pokémon Scarlet And Violet’s Preorder Bonuses Are Terrible

Gamer salt over pre-order bonuses is nothing new. But this time, the pokemon the salt of the community feels partially justified. Amazon recently showed an infographic that indicates what fans can get by ordering Scarlet and purple digital pre-launch: a set with 10 potions, 10 antidotes and three revives. The rewards feel so insignificant that fans mock the bonuses online.

We’ve already heard of these bonuses earlier this monthBut having the paltry rewards depicted in an image is quite different from simply reading about them in a bulleted list.

“I wasn’t interested in these games originally, but once they said I could order 10 drinks in-game, everything changed,” one user sarcastically noted, pointing out that the paltry bonuses probably wouldn’t force anyone to buy any of them. Nintendo’s most anticipated games of the year. Another fan was more open in their critique: “You can literally beat two or three trainers on the first route to get enough Pokédollars to buy all these items”

To be honest, players who buy the game digitally shall also receive five full heals, three ethers, a rare candy, and a gold nugget. But those are still pretty common items that you regularly encounter in the game. Some fans have be aware that japanese Scarlet and purple buyers get physical artbooks, which is more in line with what most fans expect when they pre-order a game. Others lighten up the days of getting exclusive Pokémon in distribution events, such as a special Torchic in Pokemon X and j.

However, that’s only for if you’re buying a single game digitally. Players who purchase the two-pack of both versions will receive 100 Pokéballs. If you buy the game from the official Pokémon Center, you can get it floral print backpack. Maybe I’d be more excited if the Pokémon Center hadn’t given me a Scorbunny plush to pre-order Pokemon Shield a few years ago.

What the store listings should have advertised is the special crystal Pikachu those players will receive if they buy the game before February 28, 2023. This Pikachu can use Fly, which it cannot learn naturally. So there is a special bonus for buying the game early, but it is not exclusive to just buying Scarlet and purple before the launch date.

Pokemon Scarlet and purple will be published on November 18.
