Pokémon Scarlet and Violet have been available on the Nintendo Switch for a few weeks now, and since its release, many concerns have been raised about the game’s technical issues. While the ninth generation is a step in the right direction for the series with its new open-world gameplay, its performance issues and bugs have made it quite difficult for some trainers to enjoy.

Now Nintendo has announced in an update that a new update for Scarlet and Violet will be released on December 1st (aka later today). In addition to full patch notes via the official support page, it also apologizes for the game’s issues and mentions how it’s taking player feedback on board and aims to provide a “positive experience” for trainers around the world.

We are aware that players may encounter issues that may affect the performance of the games. Our goal is always to give players a positive experience with our games, and we apologize for any inconvenience. We take player feedback seriously and are working on improvements to the games.”

As for the update (version 1.1.0), players can look forward to Season 1 of the game’s ranked battles, a music fix, and “other selected bug fixes” that aren’t detailed:

Far. 1.1.0 (released December 1, 2022)

– Season 1 of Ranked Battles begins, allowing you to enjoy Ranked Battles through the Battle Stadium.
– Check out the in-game announcement for more information on Season 1 Ranked Battles.
– Fixed an issue that prevented the music from playing correctly during battles with the Elite Four and the Top Champion in the Victory Road path.
– Other selected bug fixes have been made.

In our own review of Pokémon Scarlet and Violet here on Nintendo Life, we mentioned how excited we were about the future of the series, but we couldn’t overlook the wildly inconsistent performance issues and visuals. Since then, the bugs and issues have been well documented. You can catch up in some of our past stories:
