Suspect taken into custody after barricade situation in Oakley

Cincinnati Police and SWAT members were at the scene of a barricade in Oakley on Friday. Police said the incident began just after 4 p.m. with a 911 hang up call from an apartment building. According to police, today was the sixth 911 call from that address. According to dispatchers, an identified suspect began firing when officers arrived at the building on the 3900 block of Millsbrae Avenue. CPD Lt. Cunningham confirmed to WLWT that no officers were hit by gunfire. SWAT members came to the scene to assist police in securing the area. Neighbors spoke to WLWT about hearing some gunshots before SWAT escorted them out of the building. Police have closed traffic on Millsbrae and Markbreit Avenues as well as Edwards Road due to an active scene. Motorists are warned to avoid the area.
