But it seems that the special bond between the two characters extends beyond TV. In a recent interview with the New York Post, ahead of the show’s recent Season 5 premiere on Nov. 13, Luke opened up about spending time with the 67-year-old Field of Drteams and Dancing with wolves actor on set.

“[Kevin] always wants you to come hang out in his trailer by this creek,” he revealed at the outlet.” He’s got a fire pit and he’s a musician, so he always has a guitar with him and won’t hesitate to play you a song. He does a really good job of taking the pressure off of what a huge icon he is.

In fact, Luke revealed that he even introduced his on-screen dad — along with the show’s creator, Taylor Sheridan – to his own real father, Randywhich he took to the Yellowstone set. In addition, his mother Angie also joined.

“I took [my dad] to the set a few times, him and my mom, and they met Kevin and Taylor,” Luke told the publication. “It was very special to do something that he was so proud of. I am so happy that he saw me realize a dream in that way.”

Of course, Luke also has a lot of good things to say about working with Kevin in the past. In a 2020 interview with Monsters and Critics, the actor spoke about the invaluable learning experience he gained from starring in Yellowstone with Kevin, who he acknowledged has “done everything you can do in a movie career”.

“Working with someone so iconic and whose career is so storied is always kind of a pinch moment, like, ‘Is this real?'” he told the site. “It feels like a benchmark in your own career and you try to gain as much knowledge as possible.”

Luke went on to praise Kevin’s “passion for the job,” which he said was one thing he really enjoyed seeing in the seasoned actor.

“It’s still there. He still wants to work and is still very curious and still wants to dissect the scenes and get everything possible out of the scene,” he continued to the outlet. “You never know if someone of that stature is still going to love the job the way they did when they first started, and he really seems to.”

Needless to say, Yellowstone fans have no doubt loved how Luke and Kevin’s real-life connection translates to their complex father-son relationship on the small screen over the past five seasons of the show – and we’re sure this new, final season will be no exception. will be.
