NEXT MONTH. NEW FROM MORNING, MASON CITY SPREADS COMMUNITY HEART PAIN TO CHILDREN OR CHILDREN LOCKED IN A HOUSE FOLLOWING A FIRE BURNING THERE AND THEY DYING. THESE CHILDREN WERE BETWEEN THREE AND TWO YEARS. FIRE FIGHTERS CAME TO THE HOUSE JUST YESTERDAY MORNING NEXT TO HIGHWAY 65 AND THEY SAID THAT THE HOUSE WAS FULLY CARED. THEY STARTED RESCUE WORK AND FOUND THE YOUNG VICTIMS, A 55 YEARS AND 11 YEARS, CAN ESCAPE AND WERE TAKE TO HOSPITAL WITH BURNS.

Four children died after a house fire in the early morning. The Mason City Fire Department was called to the 500 block of N. Washington Avenue at 5:05 a.m. Wednesday. When firefighters arrived, flames could be seen emanating from the first and second floors of a home, KIMT reports. John Michael Mcluer, 55, and Ravan Dawn Mcluer, 11, had evacuated the home before firefighters arrived. Both were taken to hospital for treatment of burns. Their condition is currently unknown. Four more victims were found during a house search by firefighters. They were taken to hospital, where they were all pronounced dead. They are: John Michael Mcluer, 12Odin Thor Mcluer, 10Drako Mcluer, 6Phenix Mcluer, 3The cause of their deaths are under investigation by the medical examiner’s office. Two firefighters suffered minor injuries. The Mason City Fire Department sent its condolences to the family and friends of the Mcluer family. A GoFundMe has been set up to help with funeral costs. The National Fire Station is helping with the investigation.
