Jake Paul defeats Anderson Silva via decision: Round by round analysis

Jake Paul was outboxed, struggling to find his power shots and fighting to solve the cunning, older champion facing him in the Anderson Silva game.

Round 1

Silva clearly intends to corner Paul and get him into the ropes, and the strategy was effective when he took some big scoring blows. Paul swings hard blows, but misses most of them. Silva wins the boxing match.

Paul’s pressure is genuine. He can deliver a knockdown punch, but he won’t land it. Silva goes hard to the body.

Paul is now less confident going into a fistfight with Silva, and the former UFC champion once again gets the best of an exchange in the last minute that decided the round.

Silva takes some beating and corners Paul again. Combinations of Silva surround a hard Paul right. Paul misses a wild right.

Round 8

Paul eventually lands the knockdown right, dropping Silva to one knee. But the old warrior gets up and trades until the round is over.
